The Vietnam War was not fought in the divided country of Vietnam alone.  The war and it's casualties spread into the neighboring countries of Laos and Cambodia as well.  Of the 109 heroes who are currently classified as POW/MIA:

• 49 [45%] are missing in South Vietnam.
• 31 [28%] are missing in North Vietnam.
• 23 [21%] are missing in Laos.
• 5 [5%] are missing in Cambodia.
• and 1 [1%] is missing somewhere in China.
