It is difficult to determine exactly when the U.S. 'Officially' went to war with Vietnam, however, 'Official' U.S. presence could be seen as early as 1950 with the formation of the Military Assistance and Advisory Group (MAAG).  Of the 109 Pennsylvanian's who remain POW/MIA: 

  • 1 [.9%] has remained unaccounted for since 1961.

  • 2 [2%] have remained unaccounted for since 1964.

  • 7 [6%] have remained unaccounted for since 1965.

  • 23 [21%] have remained unaccounted for since 1966.

  • 15 [14%] have remained unaccounted for since 1967.

  • 22 [20%] have remained unaccounted for since 1968.

  • 10 [9%] have remained unaccounted for since 1969.

  • 9 [8%] have remained unaccounted for since 1970.

  • 9 [8%] have remained unaccounted for since 1971.

  • 8 [7%] have remained unaccounted for since 1972.

  • 1 [.9] has remained unaccounted for since 1973.

  • 2 have remained unaccounted for since 1975.
